Tips on surviving Dry January

Completely stopping alcohol for a month may sound easy to some but it can be more challenging than you think. So how can you commit to the detox and get mentally prepared?

  1. Be prepared – get rid of alcohol in your cupboards in preparation for Dry January. Out of sight is out of mind.
  2. Stock up – stock your cupboards and fridge of mouth-watering non-alcoholic beverages. There are huge ranges of drinks out there from non-alcoholic beer beer or gin, to kombucha or detox drinks to boost your immune system. Research and choose a few favourites.
  3. Find a buddy – doing these things with someone else helps to motivate each other and puts the pressure on to complete the challenge
  4. Track your progress – by marking off your days it will help you see the end goal and give you a boost. Working out how much you’re saving can give you a boost too.
  5. Be positive – the challenge should be a positive thing to your life and make you feel better so making note and reflecting on your accomplishment regularly can have a great impact.

How to make your drinks stand out in Dry January

For businesses who offer non-alcoholic beverages this is the perfect time to ramp up sales and dress your drinks bottles to impress your audience. Launching a new flavour could be ideal for attracting your customers or revamping your labels with eye-catching designs or a new material.

Things we suggest for creating a new look to your bottles which are simple yet effective include:

  • Changing materials – try a silver PP material to create a new metallic look to your design. This can instantly add value to the look of your drinks and attract the eye for passers by at a reasonable cost compared to adding foiling.
  • Add a new varnish – varnishes and laminates not only protect the label and design but can add a new look to a label. Matt and gloss varnishes create 2 completely different looks, whether you want a vibrant glossy finish or a flat matt label. Textured and soft touch laminates offer something a little different with textured creating a rough sandpaper feel and soft touch creating a velvety smooth finish. Ask for one of our sample packs to check out our finishes for yourself.
  • Change colours – if you’re label designs are all the same colours why not opt for a different colour to easily differentiate each drinks flavour, add vibrance and the bonus is they look great when lined up on a shelf.

So, for now enjoy the run up to the festive period, enjoy a tipple or two and then prepare yourself (personal or business) for an alcohol free January. Are you up for the challenge?
